Welcome to Fairmount, Brewerytown, Francisville

Artsy, scenic, and peaceful area with pedestrian-friendly streets and an abundance of historical landmarks

Francisville is a unique area close to Fairmount (also known as the Art Museum Area) and Brewerytown. Close to Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Fairmount is attractive to families and young professionals alike because it’s a walkable area with ample green space, pedestrian-friendly walkways, and a cultural mecca for creatives and foodies.

Fairmount is located to the west of Francisville, North Philadelphia’s oldest neighborhood. Today, it’s a booming, scenic community with cozy coffee shops, museums, and convenient access to Center City. Adjoining Fairmount and Francisville is Brewerytown, a historic North Philly neighborhood famous for introducing America to the lager beer in 1840.

As you may have guessed, the neighborhood gets its name from the numerous breweries that once operated in the area during its peak. Many of these breweries have since been converted into apartments, with new developments popping up in their wake. Yet Brewerytown remains a hot spot for multifamily investors, first-time homebuyers, and young people interested in the artsy enclave. Close to both the Art Museum Area and Fairmount Park, Brewerytown is a surprisingly peaceful and affordable sector with unique local flavor.
